Killer Buzz Flocks to New Browser

Perhaps the world does not need another web browser -- but it may want Bart Decrem's.

Decrem and a small cadre of programmers in Palo Alto, California, have spent this summer quietly readying Flock, an open-source browser, for an early October beta launch. Several members of the team, including Decrem, hail from the Mozilla Foundation, which produced the Firefox browser upon which Flock is built.

Flock advertises itself as a "social browser," meaning that the application plays nicely with popular web services like Flicker, Technorati and del.icio.us. Flock also features widely compliant WYSIWYG, drag-and-drop blogging tools. The browser even promises to detect and authenticate all those user accounts automatically. It's a clear attempt to be the browser of choice for the Web 2.0 user.

Shuttle Returns to Space

News
The space shuttle Discovery roared into the skies over Florida Tuesday morning as NASA returned to manned space flight for the first time since the 2003 Columbia disaster.

The spacecraft lifted off as scheduled at 10:39 a.m. ET, following days of troubleshooting to fix a faulty fuel sensor in its external tank.

An armed robber brandishing a revolver and some tough talk entered Blalock's Beauty College demanding money Tuesday afternoon.

He left crying, bleeding and under arrest.

That's Dedication!

News A pizza delivery man eluded two robbers but was shot escaping. Before calling police or seeking medical attention he made his next delivery. He then called his boss who called police. He went on to make three more deliveries.

News This is a really interesting read. Seems a man named Gene A. Sehrt has $617,000 sitting in an interest bearing account just waiting for him to claim it. So far he has refused to do so.

Girl tortured 'for being a witch'

Weird Witches in 2005? It's hard to believe that someone still believes in witchcraft. In merry old England an eight year old girl was tortured and about to be killed for being a witch. She was stuffed in a bag and about to be thrown in a river.
